The Resource Centre Derry’s community shop provides a vital and necessary service in the local area, offering, at low cost, a wide range of clothing, bedding and furniture.
Items, including clothes and furniture, are donated by the community for the community, giving a prime example of community sharing.
Clothes are washed and pressed prior to being sold. Furniture is restored, if necessary, and redistributed to those in need using Resource Centre Derry transport. Items not suitable for selling are sent to a recycling outlet.
The Community Shop has the additional benefit of being a social meeting place where customers can meet and have a chat while they browse and pick up a bargain. The generosity of the public in donating is greatly appreciated.
